Mutual

Sunset
Finds me with you
Your home littered with scenes
Your youth, past lives, proof of a late
Bloomer

Sooner;
If our paths crossed sunsets ago
Your life flush with meaning
Mine filled with you
We’d know

Golden
The sky reflects
Evening doubts within you
Your eyes speak within dimming tones
“Why me?”

Purple
Fading pastel watercolors
Fall into our shadows
The moon answers
“Why not?”

  1. A beautiful poem tinged with sadness . It is a painting in itself....just lovely !

  2. The sweet unfamiliar and the depth of a longing. Nicely done... Especially here:

    Great work, Barry!
