Day 5 - Trappings of Sunday’s Best

Trappings of Sunday’s Best

“don’t forget me,” a hushed whisper
and disheveled outstretched hand
goes unheeded and ignored by
throngs in trappings of Easter Sunday’s best
marching to hear sermons recounting
He who had died and arisen for us,
all the while, teaching us compassion
for ourselves and each other
with outstretched hands and

hushed whispers, “don’t forget me.”

  1. Isn't this also true of Christmas? Lip service to brotherly love is not enough. Strong write.
