Viola’s Invite

ole

Ole! by C Nelson Kellar

Viola’s Invite

When you move, glide in blues, your dance with violets

Words give way, to your blush, my chance with violets

Untamed like the tendrils of your crimson curl mane

Fire-framed in softness, your stance with violets

Colors blend the illusion of motion and sound

Aqua envy rises in advance with violets

Knowing gaze freezes me still, igniting neurons

Unspoken invitation to prance with violets

You resemble the girl dusk should have begged to dance

Moon won’t eclipse the light you enhance with violets

Your response to reluctance, a whimsical twirl

Painting an enrapturing romance with violets.

  2. I have not been able to get how to write a ghazal yet, but you're making me want to try. Viola's Invite wants to be read aloud. It's a very pleasurable sensation to both read it and listen to it aloud. Amazing use of form and perfect for the picture.

  6. Nicely done, a love a good 'guzzle' and this one is colourfully poetic. Also my garden is choc-a-bloc with violets at the moment. I let them run amok.
