Old Salt on Dry Land

Like a Dutchman in mourning, he longs for the sea

Old-salt loosed from moorings, he belongs on the sea

Poseidon’s poor pupil, and late learning lessons

Bursting forth now, his passion is strong for the sea

With Sirens in chorus, promising him meaning

He examines the wind for their song on the sea

Mazu dons her red dress, leading him to landfall

Her blessings kiss his storms that prolong on the sea

Sedna knows he is unworthy for wooing her

But Barry is content to tag along on the sea.
