Evening Violet

Evening Violet

She wore violet berets with violet ribbons
Dancing double-dutch among violet lines
Her friends turning the lines in a dark violet backdrop
Her lips hued violet by her violet jawbreakers
But I dared not steal a violet kiss
Yet I stood, in awe of my Violet obsession
Yearning to speak to her before the sky turned violet
She looked right through me with violet horned rims
To her, I was an ultraviolet; well camouflaged
She was a polished amethyst;
And I, one of her many nameless violet foils
I often wish I’d kissed her violet lips
As indigo kissed the evening violet away
